2024 April PAD Challenge: Day 23
Today is our fourth Two-for-Tuesday prompt, which would usually mean it’s the final Two-for-Tuesday prompt of the month, but we’re lucky this year: five Tuesdays!
For today’s Two-for-Tuesday prompt:
Write a “(blank) of the Heart” poem, and/or…Write a “Heart of the (blank)” poem.
Not sure what I’m talking about? Replace the blank in either of these phrases with a new word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write your poem. Possible titles might include: “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” “Coney Island of the Heart,” “Heart of the Champion,” and/or “Heart of the Night.”
Remember: These prompts are springboards to creativity. Use them to expand your possibilities, not limit them.

Play with poetic forms!
Poetic forms are fun poetic games, and this digital guide collects more than 100 poetic forms, including more established poetic forms (like sestinas and sonnets) and newer invented forms (like golden shovels and fibs).

Here’s my attempt at a Blank of the Heart and/or Heart of the Blank Poem:
“deodorant of the heart”
deodorant of the heart
tries to take away the pain
& bad aromas of love
forsaken or never taken
it’s ph-balanced to adapt
to any situation & sweaty
palms & foreheads or so
they said in the commercial
but after trying it out
in a consumer taste test
i can attest that deodorant
of the heart can’t take away
anything from the heart
even if it smells better
