2023 November PAD Chapbook Challenge: Day 25

For today’s prompt, write a response poem. You can respond to someone else’s poem (famous or not), or you can respond to one of your own poems (like I did below). Of course, it’s possible to respond to someone or something that’s not a poem: Perhaps, a letter, an old conversation, a piece of art, or a delicious piece of pie.

Remember: These prompts are springboards to creativity. Use them to expand your possibilities, not limit them.

Note on commenting: If you wish to comment on the site, go to Disqus to create a free new account, verify your account on this site below (one-time thing), and then comment away. It’s free, easy, and the comments (for the most part) don’t require manual approval like on the old site.

Here’s my attempt at a Response Poem:

“Prey”

We scurry and tremble
in the shadows of night
fearful of the reflected
flame of the full moon’s light.
If you find us, we know
there will be nowhere left to go.

(My poem today respond’s to my animal poem from Day 16.)
