2024 April PAD Challenge: Day 12

For today’s prompt, write a funny poem. Keep in mind that funny isn’t always “ha-ha” funny. For instance, your poem could include a funny smell or talk about a funny (or weird) person or situation. And if you’ve ever hit your funny bone, that pain is not making anyone laugh. So write a funny poem, whether it’s for a laugh or not.

Remember: These prompts are springboards to creativity. Use them to expand your possibilities, not limit them.

Here’s my attempt at a Funny Poem:

“Peculiar Style”

I guess I dressed funny as a kid:
pants rolled up to my knees
and button-down shirts
or a t-shirt with sweatpants—
one leg pulled up,
the other one down—
but I thought I had style
even if other kids made jokes.
And when I moved from one school
to the next, the next thought
this is a funny-dressing kid,
but at least he’s got style
and an oblivious smile.
