2025 Get Started Right Writing Challenge: Next Steps
Welp, we made it to the end of 2025’s Get Started Right Writing Challenge. I hope everyone who participated is getting off on the right foot for this new year, especially as it pertains to your writing.
This is the Next Steps post, so…
What’s Next?
If you participated in this 10-day challenge, I invite you to send along one piece of writing you did for it that you really dig. You can send in one story (up to 500 words), poem (up to 50 lines), or personal essay (up to 500 words) until January 31, 2025, at 11:59pm (Atlanta, Georgia, time)!
I’ll collect all the pieces of writing, read through them, and then highlight my favorites in a future post on the site. I may even interview a writer or two if I really like what I read.
How Do I Send in My Writing?
This is super important, so be sure to follow my directions as close as possible. Email your piece of writing to rbrewer@aimmedia.com with the subject line: 2025 Get Started Right Writing Challenge.
The subject line is especially important, because I have a super busy inbox, and I could miss your submission if you have things labeled wrong.
You can paste your piece of writing into the body of your email message, or you can include as a text, Word, or PDF file.
Also, please include your name with your submission, so that I can give you the right attribution if your piece of writing is selected as a favorite. I’m going to try to post in the month of April, but please be kind if it takes me a little bit longer.
THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for joining this Get Started Right Writing Challenge journey with me! Personally, I’m happy with the writing I’ve been able to do already in 2025 and feel good about carrying that momentum through the rest of this month and into Moriah Richard’s annual Flash Fiction Challenge in February.
