Presenting the Writer’s Digest Digital Archive!
It’s a project that’s been talked about and attempted since before I joined WD 8 years ago: digitizing the full collection of back issues of Writer’s Digest. Finally, we’re proud to announce the Writer’s Digest Archive is now available!
Going back to the very first issue of Successful Writing published in December 1920 to when it became Writer’s Digest in March of 1921 to our most current issue, every single edition has been digitally scanned into high-resolution, searchable PDFs.
You can see how writing advice has changed or stood the test of time, or zoom in to view each advertisement, which I highly recommend—you’ll find some real gems. Plus, the two search functions means you can choose whether you want to see just articles that, for example, your favorite author wrote or was the interview subject, or you can see each article where that author’s name was mentioned.
Here’s a quick demo video showing what the archive looks like and how easy it is to use:
You can choose to subscribe to the full 105 years of issues, or if that is a little overwhelming, you could opt to subscribe to just a group of decades at a time.
