Wednesday Poetry Prompts: 707
For this week’s prompt, write a flight poem. Of course, your poem could be about flying in planes, hot air balloons, or helicopters. Or perhaps a poem about birds or space shuttles. But don’t overlook a flight of stairs, flight of fancy, or people taking flight (as in running away from something or someone).
Remember: These prompts are springboards to creativity. Use them to expand your possibilities, not limit them.

Here’s my attempt at a Flight Poem:
“Response,” by Robert Lee Brewer
To tell you the truth, I don’t know
when I’ll take flight or when I’ll fight.
Running might seem the way to go,
but honestly, I never know,
because standing my ground is so
perfect when the reason feels right.
When looking back, I just don’t know
why I took flight or stayed to fight.
